Overview

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter, CAPCOM invited artists from around the world to create original music inspired by one of gaming’s most iconic franchises.

Our Approach

Our team produced an original tribute to Ryu, combining cinematic production by DJ Tomoko (Tomoko Ida) with Hip Hop and lyrical storytelling by MeccaGodZilla under the moniker RYU BLACK. Titled “Satsui No Hadou,“ the song brought together an American MC and a Japanese producer in celebration of the enduring legacy and spirit of Street Fighter.

Outcome

Selected from hundreds of submissions representing more than 20 countries, “Satsui No Hadou” was featured on one of the official music CDs included in CAPCOM’s exclusive Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set.
